Memex, Inc.'s Memex RISS-Connect allows Memex customers to share select intelligence data with other RISS (Regional Information Sharing Systems) law enforcement agencies. The RISS program is designed to support local, state, federal and tribal law enforcement efforts to combat organized criminal activity, drug trafficking and terrorism. It enables member agencies to search and share intelligence data over the secure RISSNET intranet. In consultation with the RISS Office of Information Technology, Memex developed RISS-Connect, which complies with RISS Data Exchange Specifications. With Memex RISS-Connect, Memex agency customers can share actual data over RISSNET without wasting time re-keying data. They also can share data in real-time, eliminating wait times for data to be re-keyed or for batch upload processes to run. In addition, they can share select records, and exchange as much of each record as necessary. Agencies don’t have to use the RISS intelligence database only as a pointer index for data either. They can choose to share more data and reduce the burden of fielding calls from other agencies, if desired.
